I will be back, just not quite yet. In the meantime, if you are looking for a class in the Leith area, try Yogastable in Montgomery Street Lane or Tiso. Both offer a range of Iyengar Yoga classes, to suit all levels of experience.
OTHER INFO
LEVELS -
Level 1 is for beginners. You are introduced to the basic poses. It usually takes 4-6 weeks to start to get the hang of it, or to notice an improvement, so stick with it!
Level 2 is for people who have attended beginners' level classes for a year or more and are confident in the basic poses, especially shoulder stand. Sirsasana (headstand) is introduced at this level and also Pranayama.
Level 3 is for students with 2 or more years' experience of Iyengar yoga. In this class, we practice Sirsasana regularly and begin to hold the inversions for longer. Some Intermediate level poses are introduced, Pranayama is taught regularly and students at this level should be practicing at home, in between classes.
General Level classes are mixed level. Sometimes the whole class will work on Introductory level poses and sometimes the class will be split, at least for some of the time, to allow more practiced students to do inversions etc.
I provide equipment for students booked for the term.
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing (shorts or leggings and t-shirt) and be prepared to work in bare feet.
Feel free to bring your own mat etc. with you if you prefer. A blanket is also useful.
Please do not drink water in the class. You should not eat heavily for 2-3 hours before the class or drink during the class. This is for your own safety. You may bring drinks with you to have after the class of course.
Please contact me before booking if you have a medical condition to check if the class will be suitable. Otherwise, arrive a few minutes early for the class to enrol.
Please e mail yogaeast@googlemail.com for booking enquiries etc.
EQUIPMENT SALES
I am no longer selling equipment but can refer students to other suppliers.
I hope to see you at a class soon!
(Apologies for the style of this website -it's a holding page and I have no option about 'mission statement' etc. Proper one will follow soon! I'm working on it, just VERY slowly!)
"The practice of asanas purges the body of its impurities, bringing strength, firmness, calm and clarity of mind." B.K.S.Iyengar
